If You Want to Control CPP, Resign From NDC

The Convention Peoples’ Party (CPP’s) National Youth Organiser Ernesto Yeboah has pointed accusing fingers at the General Secretary of the governing NDC and a social commentator for his party latest round if internal conflict.
He said Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Kwesi Pratt respectively are behind party wranglings that has pitted him and General Secretary Nii Armah Akomfrah against the National Chairman Dr. Edmund Delle and the party’s 2016 flagbearer, Ivor Greenstreet.
Ernesto Yeboah and Nii Akomfrah were exonerated by the party’s Disciplinary Committee after they were suspended in June. They were suspended after their position on a controversial gift to President John Mahama contradicted that of the party’s presidential candidate.
But they were confronted by macho men at the CPP Headquarters at Assylum Down after they tried to enter their offices. Their loyalists say they were roughed up by some macho men, Joy News reported.
Speaking to Joy News, Ernesto Yeboah suggested that the party has been hijacked by forces within the ruling government.
He said a serious party would not suspend its members for criticizing the CPP’s opponents. “How do you do that?…. Why is the CPP doing this”? he expressed dismay.
He pointed to the party’s Communications Director, Kadiri for working against the collective interest of the CPP.
Calling him “a Director of Contradictions”, Ernesto Yeboah criticized Kadiri for dismissing the CPP Youth League as “a bunch of dying cockroaches”.
The exonerated National Youth Organiser said the CPP Youths are “not a bunch of hungry young people who have no jobs”. A ‘commander’ in the Youth League Jason Tutu is a consultant who is in Liberia helping with international business deals.
“We want power” he fumed.
Ernesto Yeboah said if Asiedu Nketia and Kwesi Pratt are interested in controlling the CPP, they should resign from the ruing government, pick a nomination form and contest at the party’s Congress.
Otherwise, he along with editor of the Insight newspaper Kwesi Pratt Jnr should stay away from the CPP, the party that won Ghana’s independence in 1957.
“The party and the youth in Ghana have been suppressed for so long,” he expressed disappointment.
When young people rise up to take on the government on issues of corruption, poverty and unemployment, they are met with resistance from the country’s leaders.
He vowed that “nobody” can gag the CPP youth from fighting corruption.
Kwesi Pratt on Peace FM’s Kookrokoo program on Tuesday refused to comment on the allegations.
