Be Ready To Leave NDC, If You Try Anything Untoward – Asiedu Nketiah

The General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress(NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketiah says the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Afram Plains South constituency, Joseph Appiah Boateng should be prepared to sever ties with the NDC party, should the latter show any attitude that will bring the party’s name into disrepute.

Mr Boateng withdrew his nomination to contest the December polls after an injunction was placed on him, pending the determination of a criminal case at the Accra High Court. The MP is alleged to have been convicted of fraud outside the country.

His withdrawal from the race on the last day of the filing of nominations paved the way for Eric Osei Owusu, who came second in the party’s parliamentary primary, to replace the MP.

Boateng is protesting the party’s approval of another candidate and has vowed to work against the party’s chances in the December elections.

But Mr. Asiedu Nketiah said the party is not ready to keep any traitor within its fold, hence the MP will be forced to exit the party should he try any untoward action.

“He’s the very first person we gave him letter to go ahead and file on the ticket of the NDC. I appended my signature on the letter and I can attest to that fact because you were the elected candidate for our party,” General Mosquito said, adding it’s therefore unreasonable that Boateng (Incumbent MP) will nurse any grievance towards the party.

“You should ask him what prevented him from filing his nomination,” General Mosquito queried on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM Monday.

He said every decision by the party with regards to issues emerging from the Afram Plains South is in the right perspective and legal as well.

He added: “We were guided by the Rule of law and not rule of persons in this case”
