Spokesperson for the NDC’s 2016 Campaign, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, says claims that the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) is likely to clinch about 30% of the votes in the NDC’s stronghold – Volta region in the December polls is not feasible.

“The facts have never been any different that the Volta region is the NDC’s stronghold and the claims that we are gradually losing popularity in that part of the country is the best assessment of anybody’s imagination” Mogtari told sit-in host Kweku Owusu Adjei on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM.

Highlighting on President Mahama’s campaign in the Volta region, Mogtari said “the love and affection that the people of the volta region have for government and particularly President Mahama are still very much evident in this region.”

President John Mahama is currently on a six-day campaign tour of the Volta Region to outline his party’s vision and promises to the electorate for a renewal of his mandate.

The President inaugurated the Kpando Water system Monday which will supply over 1.5 million gallons a day, up from the 130,000 gallons a day it provided in the past to residents.

Although the Chiefs have applauded the President for the numerous social intervention, they were quick to mention that some projects have stalled under the Mahama regime and which they want completed.

Madam Mogtari thus contends that it remains a fact that the President hasn’t built Ghana into a paradise but in terms of social intervention in the areas of health, education, transportation and others the President has done markedly well in respect of development.

She stressed that although people will crave for more in terms of development in their respective areas, the feat of the governing NDC to create equitable distribution of social intervention is greatly on course and Volta region, according to her will continue to have it’s slice of the national cake.
