The death rate across the country just in less than two months has resulted in accusations by some spiritualists that the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) brought bad luck to the country after winning the December polls.

There have been about nine 9 reported suicide cases across the country, motor accidents claiming more than 50 lives and the unfortunate Kintampo waterfall disaster where about 20 students lost their lives after a tree fell on them while swimming.

Many have tried in various ways to link the President to these pockets of gory incidents but Rev Owusu Bempah has rubbished such claims in the public domain especially claims that political leaders sacrificed human lives.

He pleaded with some political parties to desist from consulting deities and smaller gods to win power for political appointments sake.

According to the man of God, it is the lord who gives power and not voodoo or soothsayers.

“Voodoo and other sorts of occultism will not help but increase such drastic unfortunate happenings in the country”, he warned.

He stated that the president is a true believer in Christ and will not indulge in fetishism saying ‘don’t blame Akufo-Addo; he doesn’t associate himself with these ‘gods thingy’.

“He’s a president for all but a true Christian. He’s like a god; he is not discriminating against our race or tribes. We should never say Nana Addo has a bad spirit taking blood from the citizens. He didn’t go to priests to aid him win elections. He was with true great pastors, who helped him win the 2016 elections.

“To the political parties, we don’t consult voodoo or dark magic for powers. It is the Lord who gives power. If the Lord doesn’t rule over the land there is no magic that can. I know a political party that loves occultism. And if they had won, a lot would die and if they lost likewise would happen…”

“I plead with politicians who go into agreement with evil cults to win favour and positions to desist from such gestures. Especially those who vow to offer sacrifices if they win or not and don’t care about the consequences which will eventually befall our country…” he said on Accra-based Okay FM.
