— A Donald Trump presidency could see an extra 15 percent import tariff slapped onto South African goods landing in the US, an economist said.
This would break a 100-year agreement on a 20 percent tariff, raising it to 35 percent and making South African goods seem too expensive, said University of the Witwatersrand lecturer Tinashe Chuchu of the School of Economic and Business Sciences. (News24)
— Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga has been accused of attempting to dilute the autonomy of a research unit that was set up to independently evaluate schools.

— Former President Thabo Mbeki has told South African business leaders in the country to question whether their drive to make money “at all costs” means being ready to subvert constitutional order.
