Controversial lawmaker for Assin Central Constituency in the Central region, Kennedy Agyapong has reignited calls for members of New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante groups to immediately be recruited into the national security.
He observed that members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) who are in the service are gradually compromising the security of the state and will soon sabotage the current administration if steps are not immediately taken to have them replaced.
While indicating that it is their wish to see the country on its knees, he is appealing to the Minister of National Security Mr Albert Kan Dapaah to immediately take steps to safeguard the security of the state.
“Ghana’s security is very weak. I think it is weak because these NDC members are still at post. When you go to the Airport, you still see Oti Bless Company managing the Airport. When I begin to talk, then they say I’m insulting Kan Dapaah, I am not”
“The activities of NDC members at the national security are not something to write home about and like I said some time ago, the NPP men should not stop intimidating them till they leave the job for them”
“I will make sure they are all sacked so that we can recruit our men into the system to protect our dear country” he said.
Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has vowed to ensure that all members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) have been sacked from national security before he can shut up.
He revealed that they will immediately be replaced with members of New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante groups including the Delta Forces and Invincible Forces because they sacrificed their lives for the party’s victory.
Mr Agyepong who justified the action of the vigilante groups said they need to be rewarded after standing to the test of weapon-wielding NDC members especially in the Ashanti region.
“We will enroll all vigilante groups into national security….I will support these vigilante groups in NPP today, tomorrow and anytime. If their activity is a means of protecting the public purse, then I support them fully. They should go ahead and torment them”
“These boys sacrificed a lot for the victory of the party. When the NDC were killing us, these people fought for us and so don’t discourage them by arresting them” he said on Adom TV’s Morning Show “Badwam” Tuesday.
“The vigilante groups are recognized in the party and so I will personally make sure they are recruited into national security. If it is work that they need we will gladly employ them to continue working for Ghana. We will replace all NDC people in national security with NPP men because I believe they will work well” he noted.
Mr Agyapong however cautioned them against acts of intimidation which will jeopardize the peace currently enjoyed in the country if they get the opportunity to be enrolled.
