NDC Exhibiting ‘political Hypocrisy’ On Delta Force Issues – Abronye DC

The comments of National Democratic Congress (NDC) members about vigilante groups and the troubles they have caused and continue to cause in the country smacks of political hypocrisy, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator has said.

Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Monday said the NDC which has over the years been the breeding groups of militant groups in the country’s politics lacks the morality to slam the Nana Akufo-Addo government over vigilante issues.

Chronicling a series of attacks visited on political actors both from the NPP and the NDC by NDC sponsored or aligned thugs, Abronye DC said he was shocked when he heard the NDC claiming that the NPP is the only party with vigilante groups.

“NDC is only exhibiting pressing political hypocrisy in Delta Force saga…if there is any party to discuss vigilantism in Ghana politics, it shouldn’t be the NDC which could force even DCEs to run out of their offices and leave their sandals behind,” he said.

According to him, the NDC is even perpetuating acts of insecurity in their party even in opposition with some members chasing and fighting among themselves at their meetings.

“Which is more insecure than NDC members shooting at one another at a Kwesi Botchway committee meeting…NDC should just shut up…,” he said.

Delta Force has been in the news in recent times for dragging the Ashanti regional security coordinator, George Agyei out of his office. 13 members of the group were subsequently arrested and were put before the court for breaking into the regional coordination council.

However, pandemonium broke out at the court when the judge ruled that the 13 be remanded into prison custody leading to an escape of the 13 Delta Force members.

The angry members of the gang reportedly vandalised properties of the KMA court and almost assaulted the judge while 13 members of the groups were standing trial.

They have all surrendered and are currently in prison custody. The case would be called this week.

The actions of the pro-NPP group, a Communications officer of the NDC, Kwaku Boahen said should be blamed on Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong who has been funding the group.

He thus charged the Ghana Police Service to arrest Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP) for being behind the actions of pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante group, Delta Force.

“We are set to petition the police for them to arrest Kennedy Agyapong now…he has accepted responsibility for their (Delta Force) actions, he has been funding and arming them even with guns…,” he said.

Reacting to the call of Kwaku Boahen, the Brong Ahafo Regional who was a co-panelist on the show said the NDC was only expressing ‘political hypocrisy’ over the Delta Force issue.

The attempt to stop Kennedy Agyapong from coming to the media ‘is just an attempt to prevent him from exposing the rots in the Mahama administration.’
