The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has said former Attorney General, Martin Amidu has not been sacked from the party.

Martin Amidu has been a thorn in the flesh of the NDC since dragging businessman, Alfred Agbesi Woyome to court to demand a refund of the GHC51.2 million judgment debt paid him.

The two who have been trading accusations in the media have a date on November 24th where Martin Amidu would orally examine Woyome.

Reports on social media indicated that, the NDC has sacked the ‘Citizen Vigilante’ for daring to push further the Woyome scandal and retrieve the monies paid the businessman.

But the NDC scribe speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Programme Monday said, Mr. Amidu is still an NDC member.

“He [Amidu] has not been sacked from the party…we don’t sack people like the way Afoko and others were sacked…no letter calling for his sack has come to the disciplinary committee,” he said.

Martin Amidu has also urged electorates to vote out the Mahama administration so the country can have the monies wrongfully paid him retrieved.

“I am a senior and foundation member of the NDC, the Governing party. But I am compelled to put Ghana First and to defend the 1992 Constitution by saying that the only way Ghanaians can have the Woyome/Austro-Invest joint loot refunded is to change the Government that created, looted and shared the loot with them during the Presidential elections this year.”

“A new Government will prosecute Woyome under Article 2(3) and (4) of the 1992 Constitution for High Crime should he delay any further in refunding the unconstitutional loot. The new Government will also enforce the Waterville judgment debt of over Euro 47million loot or prosecute it for High Crime,” he added in a statement.

But General Mosquito said he was not sure Ghanaians would heed to the advice of Martin Amidu whom while he was President Mills’ running mate in 2004 could not win the election for the NDC.

“I don’t think Ghanaians listen to Martin Amidu before voting, otherwise they would have voted for us (NDC) when he was made the running mate…he has the right as a citizen to express his opinion but I don’t think Ghanaians vote based on what he tells them…,” he said.
