His comments follow widespread interest generated by the public over the health status of the NPP flag bearer Nana Akufo Addo after the latest publication by The Africa Watch Magazine, which sought to insist that the NPP flag bearer has cancer.

The magazine which had earlier published a damning report on the health status of the twice defeated NPP flag bearer dismissed claims by the NPP that the party’s flag bearer was well and not suffering from cancer and other health related diseases.

In its October 2016 edition of the Africa magazine, one of the most widely read on the continent Captioned, “Ghana, the Lies and Insults Must Stop” sought to hit back at the NPP threatening to publish more revelations about Nana Akufo-Addo’s health if the insults and lies does not cease.

Since the publication came out, there have been widespread calls by a section of Ghanaians especially on social media for Nana Addo to come clean on his health status to put the matter to rest once and for all.

Some have also wondered why Nana Akufo-Addo and his handlers have not bothered to drag the Africa Watch Magazine to court over the publications.

This has further reignited suspicions that the story may well be hence Nana Addo’s hesitation to take legal action against the magazine.

Nana Addo who has since flown to the Germany and the UK since the publication has further deepened suspicions that the health of the NPP standard bearer is deteriorating as earlier reported by the magazine that Nana Akufo Addo has been seeking medical attention in a highly reputable hospital Wellington hospital in the UK.

In response to the social media comments Kwame Gyan, an employee of Global Media Alliance, owners of ETV, and also believed to be a staunch sympathizer of the NPP took to his face book page and wrote

“Even Mills was tolerated. Mills with his very evident sickness and black palms was tolerated. Nonsense.

His comments have since caused public anger and outrage among a section of his followers who have asked him to retract the statement and apologize.

But he reacted by saying” I want to say something about those talking about Nana’s travels and the allegations of medical checkup but I am holding my thumbs.

The latest publication also makes reference to Edward ‘Bumpty’ Akufo-Addo, the NPP Presidential candidate’s brother who is seriously ill. Bumpty, a leading member of NPP financiers’ status, is badly affecting the party which is currently broke and still facing difficulties in raising cash for campaign because of donor fatigue deepened by cracks within the party.

Steve Mallory wrote; “Africawatch pride ourselves on being one of the most uncompromising, unbiased and truthful panAfrican magazines, and it was in that spirit that we covered in our August issue the health status of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo….. We felt it was a story of vital national and international interest, with ramifications for Ghanaians in the upcoming election as regarding Akufo-Addo’s personal health and ability to withstand the rigors of the Presidency“.

The magazine exposes lies by a local Ghanaian doctor, Prof. Adu Gyamfi, who in a desperate attempt to water down the concerns about Nana Addo’s kidney and cancer disease told an Accra based radio station, JOY FM that the 72-year old Nana Addo’s Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) was not the extremely high 89.9 which we reported, but was only 0.03.

“This response from someone who has been treating a 72-year-old man for the past two years is striking. If he had done so, he could have easily given at least a yes or no response to the simple question of whether Akufo-Addo has ever been to the Wellington Hospital. This alone calls into serious doubt his assertion of a current PSA count of 0.03, or anything else he may have to say regarding the candidate’s state of health,” his publication emphasized.

The magazine also described as shocking and very disturbing, Akufo-Addo’s one clear response to all the issues at a rally in the Northern Region: “Now, they say I have cancer, it will not work.”

This, Steve Mallory finds very intriguing because Nana neither confirms nor denies the truth of the medical facts as reported by them.

Two years ago, Airtel Ghana was compelled to suspend Kwame Gyan who was then the Brands and Communication manager, over a supposedly violent comment he posted on his private Facebook page.

A line from that post which read ‘I wish we had guts like the people of Ukraine’ generated several criticisms in 2014 with many calling for the head of the former employee of Airtel Ghana.

The comment by Kwame Gyan coincided with the period of the Ukrainian revolution of dignity in February 2014, marked by series of violent events involving protesters, riot police, and unknown shooters which culminated in the ousting of the democratically-elected President, Viktor Yanukovych.

Critics of Kwame Gyan’s comment at the time argued forcefully that the Airtel Ghana Employee was calling for a coup in Ghana.
