National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kofi Adams has filed a suit at an Accra High Court, citing Network Broadcasting Company Limited, managers of Accra-based Radio Gold, and four members of the party for defamation.
According to Mr Adams, who was NDC’s 2016 Campaign Coordinator, the four called him a thief and said he is engaged in a crime of stealing money and cars, at a press conference on Monday, March 27.
The press conference organised by Action Movement was broadcast live on Radio Gold, according to Mr Adams.
The four who are said to have addressed the press are Kodzo Keglo Hamenya, Okaikoi North Constituency’s Secretary, Emmanuel Ashaley Tetteh, Klottey Korle Constituency’s Communications Officer, Stephen Affutu Neequaye, the Communications Officer at Okaikoi Central Constituency and James Deku, a member of Action Movement.
“We have never seen such useless National Organiser/ Campaign Coordinator…All Kofi Adams knows is to steal money and cars and disrespect everybody,” Mr Hamenya, the spokesperson, is quoted as saying during the press conference.
According to Mr Adams, the defamatory statements are meant to render him unelectable for any office in the NDC.
The NDC National Organiser is seeking, among other reliefs, a compensation of GH¢600,000 each for defamation.
