I’ll Debate Asiedu Nketiah On Topical Issues of National Interest

The Acting General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP), John Boadu, has rubbished claims by the General Secretary of the governing NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah suggesting that he[John Boadu] chickens out of media banter should they be paired on any Radio or Television discussion.

According to the Acting General Secretary of the NPP, he’ll prefer Asiedu Nketiah to debate him on topical issues of national interest than the mischief he throws about on the political front.

“There is no platform they’ve invited us that I’d ever declined. Never! What he should understand is Kofi Adams makes more serious analysis on issues than him[Asiedu Nketiah]. If he brings more substantive issue out then I’ll be forced to debate him. He is no kid in politics and he must move away from his jokes. It is below his standard as a General Secretary of a party in government,” he told host Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM Monday.

Speaking at the launch of the NDC Manifesto for the 2016 election at Sunyani, Saturday, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah aka General Mosquito taunted the NPP, daring John Boadu whom he describes as “pretending General Secretary to be man enough to engage him in the media.

“Tell them that I’m greatly worried that the NPP is unable to nominate a rep to engage me on live programmes in the media.

“I’m a General Secretary, they also have a General Secretary, I don’t want to be called to debate an issue live on Television alone alone, when I’m called they should also call the NPP General Secretary, I hear he’s called the “pretending General Secretary”.

“When we both meet on a programme that is when all will see which of us is the champion. You don’t wait for me to comment in the media, and surface to tell lies only after I go off air, that is bad, Mr Asiedu Nketiah said.

But reacting to Mr. Asiedu Nketiah’s comment, Boadu said he[Asiedu Nketiah] has lost credibility in the eyes of the public which explains the reason why he’s desperately looking for an opportunity to redeem his reputation.

“I don’t understand why he should insist on debating me by all means, if not for the fact that he’s lost his credibility and he wants to repair it. It’s quiet strange. By the way he hasn’t said anything substantive that merits a debate, but then if he still insists then he should look for a more serious topic that will move the nation forward and I’ll be glad to face off with him.
