The representative of the president-elect on the transition team Yaw Osafo Maafo said this is part of several complaints and allegations which have come to the attention of the NPP transition team.

Revealing more, he said there are allegation that the National Democratic Congress is recruiting its people into the security services and also selling off government properties and assets.

Yaw Osafo Maafo said some temporary staff and assistants of some NDC officials are being given permanent employment within the civil and public service.

The Chief of Staff-designate said he had heard all this ‘from the grapevine’.

“I hope it is not true” he said at a meeting between members of the incoming government and the out-going government.

At the Accra International Conference Centre where the handing-over meeting is being held, the co-chairperson warned that the NPP will probe these allegations when it is sworn into office January 7, 2017.

“We do not want to believe that these allegations are true” Yaw Osafo Maafo said and called on government officials to be circumspect of its actions.

“We need to be cautious, We need to be transparent, We need to be candid and we need to be factual” he said.

He said the out-going NDC administration must consult the in-waiting government within the transition period before binding agreements are finalised.

“We are therefore appealing to our colleagues….if there is a need for an agreement to be concluded, it is only fair ….that you bring in the in-waiting government, discuss and get the green light to carry it out”

Osafo Maafo said this is in line with international convention.

The Mahama-led NDC government will be handing over on January 7 to President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
