It will be under the theme: “Extending Coverage of Life Insurance in Ghana, A Collective Responsibility”, and will be sponsored by Turnkey Africa Limited.

The main speaker will be Tom Gitogo (Group Chief Executive Officer CIC Insurance Group).

Other Speakers will include Mr. Edward Forkuo-Kyei, chairman of Life Insurance Council and Mr. Atsu Kosi Menyawovor, Chief Executive Officer Ghana Insurers Association.

The Board of GIA on the recommendation of the Life Insurance Council instituted the annual National Life Insurance Conference in 2012.

The objective of the National Life Insurance Conference was to create a national platform for discussing and addressing key issues that affect life insurance and to create awareness about life insurance among policy makers and other key institutions/stakeholders in the country.

The first three (3) conferences held in 2012, 2013 and 2015 were under the respective themes: “Life Insurance Agenda, 2012: Expanding the Frontiers and benefits of life insurance in Ghana”, “Compulsory Group Life Insurance Cover: A tool for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development”, and “Group Life Insurance: A Relevant Tool for Income Security for the Family, Industrial Harmony and Socio-Economic Development of Ghana”.

The 2014 and 2016 Conference could not come on due to some unforeseen circumstances.

Life Insurance is a powerful tool for the mobilization of long term funds for National Development aside the tremendous benefits it holds for individuals, families, employees and employers.

It is therefore the fervent hope and expectation of the insurance industry in Ghana that the acquisition of life insurance in particular and all forms of insurance in general, as the mechanism for mitigating the various risks we are exposed to on a daily basis, would become a way of life of all Ghanaians.
