Election Predicting Prophets Serving A ‘confused’ God

Men of God who have come out with various prophecies are serving a ‘confused’ God, Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has said.

Various prophets and ‘men of God’ have predicted the outcome of the 2016 General Elections with most of them prophesying victory for either President John Dramani Mahama or Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Prominent among these prophets is the founder and leader of the Glorious Word and Power Ministry International, Rev Isaac Owusu-Bempah who always predict victory for the NPP.

His latest prophesy about a plot by some unnamed persons to assassinate the opposition leader during his on-going tour to the Volta Region led to his invitation by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police; an invitation which he honoured.

The veteran journalist commenting on the numerous prophecies on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Thursday said he has failed to understand the messages from the men of God.

According to him, the counter prophecies make him believe that the prophets are not serving the ‘one and only true God which we learnt about in Sunday school’.

“The prophets are now prophesying that either Mahama or Nana Addo will win…if God does all of them, then that same God they claim they serve is now confused…I don’t see the possibility of the same God predicting wins for both Mahama and Nana Addo…,” he argued.

To him, the prophets are not helping advance the cause of the God they serve through their prophecies as they are rather exposing him as a ‘confused entity’ who is predicting victory for two persons competing for one trophy.

“…The prophets are not helping God and not helping us either, those of us who never places telephone call to God… they are projecting him as a confused being and that tells they might not be serving same God…,” he said.

Kwesi Pratt opined that he was sure most of the prophets were making the predictions based on the massive crowds the parties are recording at their rallies.

But this, he said is wrong as his years of work as a journalist and someone closer to political parties have proven that huge crowds does not mean victory.

“In 2008, during the last CPP rally at Circle, we had more persons attending the rally, our flagbearer then, Paa Kwesi Nduom, did the unthinkable and asked the crowd to show their party membership cards, they all waved it and we thought, we had won but what did we see after the elections? Did the CPP win? we shouldn’t be swayed by that…,” he added.
