This comes after Gyataba had filed a suit on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at the law court to seek justice for the illegal seizure of his two vehicles (pickups) by the Suame Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Mr C. O. Lomottey, in conspiracy with four personalities known to be members of a group called Invincible Forces.

As of the time of court proceedings, four members of the Invincible Forces had still not been served with the Writ of Summons, while only one of the defendants, Mr Lomottey, was represented by Detective Chief Inspector Mr John Baah.

Counsel for Gyataba, Mr William Osei Kufuor, told the court that response to the writ from Mr Lomottey came late in the build-up to the court sitting, stating that he would need some time to study the response.

Therefore, the court, presided over by Justice Nicholas Mensah Cudjoe Abodakpi, adjourned sitting to March 30 for further hearing on the case.

Background

It was reported that some members of the Invincible Forces stormed the residence of Gyataba at Adankwame in his absence and forcibly towed his two pickups with registration numbers GH 1842-16 and GM 1413-16 away.

The group alleged on radio that the vehicles belonged to National Security and that they were working to safeguard national property.

However, Gyataba claimed he had documents to prove that he legally acquired the vehicles from the manufacturers.
