The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Excellence and Leadership Awards which climaxed the 6th edition World CSR Congress 2017, attracted personalities from companies across the world who engage in sustainable and impactful CSR.  The theme for the congress was: “The Future of Profit is Purpose.”

The criteria adopted to select the awardees included the following: Successful Alignment of Business and Overall CSR Strategy, Innovative Thinking and Creativity, Involvement of Stakeholders, Strategic Perspective & Building Collaborative Relationships, Personal Credibility, Integrity & Ethics, Innovative Sustainable Solutions, Incorporating Ethical Values, Involvement in Communities & Protection of the Environment.

Commenting on the award, Donald said: “It is an honour to be recognised by World CSR Day, organisers of the event. Winning awards was the last thing on my mind when I embarked on this journey several years ago of making a difference with a purpose in the lives of all who have been touched by our CSR initiatives.  It is indeed a global village where our actions at the local level can be felt and recognised at the global level. …This is humbling, but I thank the Almighty for the competencies he has given me and the teams I have worked with who share the passion.”

He also thanked the organisers for the opportunity to present at the august congress where his topic was “CSR Reporting – An Ethical Perspective.”
