Sharks Come From Two Goals Down To Pick Point Against Olympics

Accra Great Olympics were held to a 2-2 draw by Elmina Sharks in match day three of the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.

poor defensive play by Sharks defence.

Elmina Sharks afterwards mounted the pressure in search of an equalizer, as they dominated position in the early minutes of the half, but where largely wasteful in-front of goal.

Sharks captain Charles Mccarthy should have grabbed the equalizer after he was put through on goal by Yerful Anthony, but his effort was saved by Osei Boateng who had

a terrific afternoon in post for Great Olympics.

Sharks continued their dominance of the game, but Olympics plotted the counter-attacking system, as it was fruitful in the 25th minute when Bernadinho broke on the left hand side of deep into Sharks territory, as he unselfishly set-up Manoney who executed a sublime strike to double the lead for Great Olympics.

Great Olympics started on a good note in the second half, as the looking to increase their lead, as Manoney low cross in the 18 yard box, was not connected by any of their arriving players,.

Sharks captain Charles Mccarthy who had a poor game was replaced by Isaac Donkor, as Sharks looked to get back in the game.

The Sharks pulled one back through Benjamin Tweneboah on the 63rd minute mark, after the Olympics defence where got ball watching.

Great Olympics should have extended their lead on 66th minute mark , but Reginald Thompson was indecisive as slot home after being through on goal by Benardinho Osah.

Tweneboah Benjamin nearly grabbed the lead for Sharks on the 73rd minute mark but his effort at goal remained feeble, as Osei Boateng watched the ball pass his goal post.

The quickness and pace of Tweneboah Benjamin was just unstoppable, as he low shot struck beneath the post of Great Olympics goalkeeper, George Boateng.

Sharks continued to create chances as Mensah Joseph nearly grabbed the equalizer but his effort at goal was not enough , as the ball rolled for goal-kick.

Olympics should have extended their lead on the 84th minute mark, but Osah headed stuck the goal post, as Sharks goalkeeper coolly collected the rebound.

Elmina Sharks continued their spell of pressure and were equally rewarded as substitute headed home for the equalizer, as both sides shared the spoils on the match day.
