European football expert, Reuben Obodai brings you a comprehensive update on how Ghanaian players performed in abroad this weekend.

The weekend was very fun in terms of the number of Ghanaian players that registered their names on the score sheet – eight goals scored in total.

There were a quite a few of our players returning from injury. Asumah Abubakar, Thomas Agyepong and Jeffery Schlupp.

Goalkeeper Razak Brimah, Nuhu Kassim and Abraham Frimpong also completed their week with championship medals in their respective leagues.

Jeffrey Schlupp returned from injury to make a cameo appearance for Crystal Palace as they walloped Leicester City 5-0 at the Selhurst Park.

Christian Atsu missed Newcastle United 1-0 loss against the resurgent West Brom side through injury.

Daniel Amartey returned from a month injury to play 45 minutes for Leicester City U23 in their 3-2 loss in the Premier League Cup semifinal loss against Aston U23.

Collins Quaner lasted 59 minutes for Huddersfield in their 2-0 defeat against Everton.

Jordan and Andre Ayew played 90 minutes for Swansea City as they were edged 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium by Chelsea.

In the Championship, Albert Adomah lasted 59 minutes for Aston Villa in their 1-1 draw with Derby County.

Andy Yiadom enjoyed full throttle for Barnsley in their 2-0 win over Brentford.

Caleb Ekuban warmed the bench for Leeds United in their 2-1 loss at Norwich.

Dennis Odoi again enjoyed a super performance for Fulham FC in their 2-1 win over Sunderland – a win that effectively relegated the losers to League One.

Phil Ofosu-Ayeh missed Wolves goalless against Sheffield Wednesday through injury. Sean Clare was left out of Wednesday squad.

In League One, Bernard Mensah was an unused substitute for Bristol Rovers in their 1-0 win over Gillingham.

Daniel Agyei made a cameo appearance for Blackpool in their 1-1 draw with Shrewsbury.

Tarique Fosu and Joe Dodoo were left out of Charlton Athletic squad that defeated Blackburn Rovers 1-0 at home.

Kwesi Appiah made a cameo appearance for AFC Wimbledon in their 1-1 draw at Wigan. Lloyd Sam was not added to Wimbledon squad..

Kevin Luckassen was left out of Northampton Town squad that loss 1-0 at Walsall.

In League Two, Hiram Boateng enjoyed full throttle for Exeter City in their 3-1 loss at Stevenage.

Elsewhere in the lower leagues, Darius Osei warmed the bench for Maidstone in their goalless draw with Halifax Town. Nana Ofori Twumasi was not included in the victors squad.

Kwame Thomas was an unused substitute for Solihull in their 4-1 home loss against Eastleigh.

Nortei Nortey lasted 67 minutes for Dover Athletic in their 2-1 win at Woking. Kevin Lokko lasted full period for the victors but there was no place for young goalkeeper Declan Appau for the losers.

Nana Owusu scored for Maidenhead in their 5-2 win over Bromley. Harold Odametey lasted full period for the victors.

Mubarak Wakaso was reckless for Deportivo Alaves as he caused two penalties in a space of five minutes in their 1-0 loss against Atletico Madrid. Thomas Partey was superb at right back for the Rojiblancos.

Emmanuel Boateng lasted full throttle for UD Levante in their 2-1 win over Sevilla.

In the Segunda Division, Yaw Yeboah made a cameo appearance for Real Oviedo in their 3-0 defeat at Numancia.

Kwadwo Asamoah was an unused substitute for Juventus as they came from behind to beat Inter Milan 3-2.

Bright Gyamfi made a cameo appearance for Benevento Calcio in their 3-3 draw with Udinese.

Alfred Duncan enjoyed 90 minutes for Sassuolo in their 1-0 win over Fiorentina. Claude Adjepong picked a booking but lasted full minutes.

Isaac Cofie warmed the bench for Genoa in their 3-1 loss at Atalanta Bergamo.

Afriyie Acquah was an unused substitute for Torino in their 1-0 defeat against SS Lazio.

In the Serie B, Bright Addae registered his first league goal for Ascoli in their 2-2 draw with Perugia.

Kevin-Prince Boateng failed to recover from injury in time for Eintracht Frankfurt in their 4-1 defeat against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

Kwame Nsor scored the winner for Academica Viseu in their 1-0 win over Gil Vincente.

Kassim Nuhu was a stalwart for Young Boys in their 2-1 win over Luzern. The win helped Young Boys to end their 32-year league title drought.

In the Challenge League, defender Kwadwo Duah made a cameo appearance for Winterthur in 1-1 draw at Vaduz.

Nana Akosah-Bempah made a cameo appearance for Cape Town City FC in their 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates. Bernard Morrison also came on in the 88th minute for the losers. The result means that Mamelodi Sundowns clinch their 8th Absa Premiership title.

Razak Brimah was not included in Mamelodi Sundowns squad that beat Ajax Cape Town 3-1 to win the PSL title.

Anas Mohammed was not included in Free State Stars squad that played goalless draw with Polokwane City.
