Black Queens Coach and WLB Chairman In Morocco For CAF Women’s Football Symposium

Black Queens interim coach Mercy Tagoe Quarcoo and Women’s League Board chairperson Leanier Addy  have been invited to attend the maiden CAF Women’s football symposium scheduled for Morocco from 5-7 March.

The two women left Ghana for Morocco last Saturday night to join other stakeholders in women’s football to deliberate on the progress of the game on the continent as well as discuss how best it could be further developed and promoted.

Other countries sending strong representation are Nigeria, Cameroun, South Africa, Kenya, Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea as well as Zimbabwe, Kenya, Namibia and DR Congo.

There is also representation from the main actors of the game – players, both former and current; referees, coaches, media, as well as experts from FIFA and other Confederations for the historic event.

After the plenary session to be attended by CAF President Ahmad and FIFA General Secretary Fatma Samoura amongst others, the participants will be split into seven working groups to brainstorm on specialized topics within the realms of their area of expertise.

The topics for the working groups are;

How to expand the practice of Women’s Football

Developing the technical formation of the trainers, referees & instructor

Means of development of sponsorship for Women’s football

Role of women’s football in gender promotion and socialization
