2017/18 Ghana Premier League To Start This Weekend Amid Court Verdict

The 2017/18 Ghana Premier League will kick starts this weekend amid a massive anticipation of a favourable court ruling for the FA on Thursday.

GHANAsoccernet.com headquarters understands , the hugely awaited new campaign will go on as planned if the federation is successful against Great Olympics in the injunction case which has brought football on its knees in the West African nation.

An Accra High Court is expected to rule on an injunction application brought against the FA by relegated Great Olympics on Thursday.

The Accra-based side are fighting their relegation from the country’s top-tier, vowing to bring football to a standstill.

However, the Ghana FA hope to floor the ‘litigant’ club in court – and put their programmes back on track.

GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal that clubs are waiting patiently in the wings to kick start their campaign after being told to stand-by pending the determination of the interlocutory injunction filed by the Wonder Club.

The Ghana FA has an option to request for an extension from FIFA to ensure matches are played during the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Premier League clubs have been engaged in several friendly games in preparation for the start of the new season.
