The General Secretary of NPP Austria branch Mr. Frank Boakye has stated that President Mahama and his NDC government has no moral right to boast of the few infrastructural facilities they have put up in the last 8 years because even military government regimes were able to build infrastructure.

He said that it is an act of mediocre for a government to only boast of buildings as his key accomplishment without considering the economic temperature of his people. He posited that looking at the amount of money that has come into the purse of the NDC government over their last 8 years; it is obvious that the country should have been better off than its present economic trajectory.

He added that from 2009 up to 2016 the Mahama led NDC government has borrowed over GHC90 billion, an amount that is capable of transforming the economy of Ghana to be more robust than its present deteriorated state.

He postulated that what Ghana needs now is prudent economic policies that will have long term socio-economic impact on the standard of living of Ghanaians. Majority of the people in Ghana are increasing becoming impoverished amidst high rate of youth unemployment, weakening educational system and the resurgence of the cash and carry system in accessing health care.

What the country currently need is achievable socio-economic policies as clearly captured in the NPP 2016 Manifesto. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP when voted into power will make the needed economic investment to create jobs, provide free SHS, realistically reinstitute the Nursing and Teacher training allowance and revamp the National Health Insurance Scheme. He made this pronouncement in an interview after a special meeting of members from all the 4 satellite branches of the NPP Austria branch at Alxingergasse 2, Austria.

The Chairman of the Austria Branch, Mr George Fobi also asserted that comparatively NPP under the erstwhile President John Agyekum Kuffour and his NPP government has a proven record of feasible social infrastructure than the 8 years of NDC’s insidious rule.

He indicated that the NPP government introduced several social interventions including the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), school feeding program and capitation grant as well as youth employment; all of which was to better the socio-economic wellbeing of Ghanaians. However, all of these noteworthy interventions are at various stages of collapse. Therefore Ghanaian must vote for the Nana Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party to correct all the anomalies masterminded by Mahama and his NDC government.

Again, Mr Benjamin Obeng Bimpong, the Deputy General Secretary of NPP Austria Branch on his part postulated that Ghana’s current economic misfortunes have been due to Maladministration, misappropriation and corruption. There is a rising public debt, excessive waste and leakages and slowing GDP growth and high cost of doing business in Ghana due to higher interest rate. There is a towering rate of import duties and a lot of illicit charges at the harbor which is increasingly collapsing a lot of businesses especially those belonging to Ghanaians in the diaspora.

He added that many Ghanaians are now walloping in various degrees of economic hardship whiles government propaganda machinery is amusing themselves of inflated infrastructural projects with no economic impact on the lives of the citizenry. All these are indications that there is an inevitable need for change. Therefore a vote for Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP is a vote for change. A change that will bring verifiable jobs to people and economic transformation through better and achievable economic policies.

Moreover, the National Patron of NPP Austria Mr. Phillip in his statement revealed that the members of NPP in the diaspora are committed to support the party to enable Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP to win the December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary election to deliver unsuspecting Ghanaians from the current economic hardship.

The Austria branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has adopted Abirim and Krachi Nchumuru constituency to support their Campaign with financial and product support to enable Nana Akuffo-Addo and the NPP to win the December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary election. The Austria branch of the New Patriotic Party has four satellite branches at Vienna, Innsbruck, Linz and Graz. Other executive members at the meeting include 1st Vice Chairman, Mr Brefo Frimpong, Organizer Mr. Seth, Women Organizer Mrs. Vera Fobi and the Deputy Women Organizer Mrs. Kate Kwarteng.
