Montie Three Cowards In Retreat

On the day that the Montie Three propaganda shills for President Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) regime were sprung out of the Nsawam Medium-Security Prison, otherwise known as the Kwame Nkrumah Reformatory College, having done an insulting one month of their 4-month sentence by the Supreme Court, the trio’s lawyer, Mr. Edudzi Kudzo Tameklo told a news conference that Messrs. Salifu Maase (aka Mugabe), Alistair Tairo Nelson and Godwin Ako Gunn would now be training their blubber mouths on the three-time presidential candidate of the country’s main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) – (See “Montie FM’s Mugabe to Turn Heat on Akufo-Addo” 3News.com / Ghanaweb.com 8/27/16).

Obviously traumatically cured of their haughty scofflaw and judicial terror-mongering posture, the Montie Three, we were told by Attorney Tameklo, would now be steering well clear of the Supreme Court and any members of the bench. Which tells us that finally these supposedly iron-hearted ragamuffins may have learned a lesson or two about how not to attempt to criminally put our otherwise civilized and progressive ship of state in reverse gear. The prime losers here, of course, are those unfortunate inmates of Nsawam who heartily celebrated the brief stay there of the Montie Three, which they claimed had significantly improved the quality of their diet.

My great-granduncle and putative Doyen of Gold Coast and modern Ghanaian Politics did not have it nearly half as jolly as the Montie Three and the long-term inmates of Nsawam. For a hypertensive and a diabetic man of 69 years old, Dr. Joseph (Kwame Kyeretwie) Boakye-Danquah would endure the deadly diet of farina or grated cassava – gari – and a solution of common salt (See Asafu-Adjei Commission’s Inquiry into the Death of Dr. J. B. Danquah at the Nsawam Medium-Security Prison).

If I had direct communication access – God forbid! – to the members of the Montie Three Gang, I would tell these grossly misguided young men that the advice proffered them by Mr. Tameklo, their attorney, to steer clear of any subject pertaining to the judiciary in order to effectively and permanently part ways with the Kwame Nkrumah Reformatory College is wrong-headed, because it gives the erroneous impression that, somehow, Messrs. Maase, Nelson and Gunn were indicted, prosecuted and sentenced to their prison terms for merely criticizing the members of the Apex Court.

Rather, these three men were convicted and sentenced to 4 months’ imprisonment, each, for threatening to rape Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood and summarily execute at least five of her associates whom the Montie Three gangsters had virulently accused of flatly refusing to collude with the so-called Independent Electoral Commission to rig the December 2016 general election in favor of the Mahama-led government of the National Democratic Congress.

The Montie Three political thugs also need to be sternly warned against facilely presuming Nana Akufo-Addo, unarguably the finest trial lawyer of his generation, to be a ready punching bag for their venomous and bilious politics of abuse, personal attacks and vile threats. They would likely be better off playing second-bananas to political programming fare of the Kennedy Agyapong-owned Oman-FM radio station, particularly the flagship “Boiling Point” program.

The Montie Three thugs had also better take a course or two in media law, in order to avoid the sort of pitfalls that landed them at Nsawam recently. For it is almost certain that they cannot hope to be very successful at their trade in the long haul, should they decide to steer clear of the most critical, sensitive and significant issues and subjects of the day.
