Going forward in achieving a dream and being written off by pundits could be disheartening but there is solace in believing in your aspirations and going forward to achieve by being defiant with persistence and commitment. Donald J. Trump, a man who has been vilified and bullied by the American media for his radical advocacy and aspirations for the American people has defiled the normal odds of the existing political system to become the 45th American President and the first political outsider to enter the White House by beating the favorite candidate who was tipped to have had 90 per cent chances of winning the presidency.
But the answer to the surprised question posed by most people outside America especially Africa is that America is not as racist and divided as you might think and that Trump knows his worth and how to challenge the status quo that glorifies corruption, division and political elitism. First and foremost, Donald J. Trump did not just get up to say he is running for elections and he will shock the world by pulling out a surprise but rather relied heavily on data which guided his strategies of achieving the ultimate. When all people say you cannot achieve what you believe in and aspire to attain, it is a sign that you are on the right path and therefore need to prove them wrong. Prove to them that anything set by the mind is achievable with persistence, passion and commitment.
The initial win of becoming the presumptive nominee of the Republican Party was what heavily influenced and kept Donald pushing to cling unto the prize. Trump pursued an agenda of differentiation and comfortability. Americans are sick and tired of wasting resources on needless and unnecessary wars whilst the internal issues confronting the American people are left unaddressed or addressed with no sense of emergency. With billions being wasted on needless wars and people complaining of joblessness and insecurity, and Donald pushing these issues to the fore, it was therefore not surprising that many Americans felt he was resonating their plights and concerns.
It is not about thinking for the people, but it is about being with the people and listening to their needs and wants with the hope that we will surmount the weathering storms together. The creation of an uncontested political market space cannot be taken away for having played to the Trump-Pence advantage. With Trump setting the media agenda indirectly through negative comments, he was bringing himself to the spotlight because media loves drama, bad news and radicalism. This is critically important for Trump because it offered him the media coverage he wasn’t getting and helped to align with people who felt enough was enough, the system has rotten and needed a new face. It was therefore soothing to the Trump camp that he had become the focus and central person for media discussions and agenda especially in the examination of candidates’ attitudes and lifestyles.
It was very strategic of Trump to have employed a possible rigging. This singular act of rigging by an outsider and a man deemed to be the least favored raised concerns for fairness. This act of a possible rigging consciously or unconsciously made many of his supporters and sympathizers to go vote massively on the Election Day. A successful Presidential win cannot not be analyzed without putting it in the context of FBI investigations. The FBI investigation of another possible criminality in its examination of further emails involving Clinton and its hurriedness to finish the investigation served as a tool that played to a Trump-Pence advantage aside the question of Clinton’s integrity.
Contesting with a candidate who has issues of integrity in public life, it was easy for Trump to hammer on that. It was critical because if a Former First Lady could lie on a national TV about sexual misconduct of her husband; if a Secretary of State could carelessly conduct herself in a manner that could possibly jeopardize America’s national security, then there is the need to critically ascertain the safety of America under a President like that. Assessment of the political system’s flaws cannot be ignored in the success of the Trump presidency. With public debt increasing and many industries relocating outside America making Americans lose jobs internally and a slower pace of economic recovery, aside the political corruption and political machinations, a Trump presidency was very feasible and realistic to the average American.
It is important to know that the alleged gun incident which led to Trump being whisked off the stage was a positive effect to put him in the lead. With Trump showing and paving the way that candidates do not necessarily need party structures and propaganda to win election, he had shown that American politics could be devoid of bigotry, sensationalism and racism. He projected an American politics founded on logic, feel for one another with the sense of hope that the system doesn’t necessarily need politicians and career politicians who have failed the system to make America great again but rather Americans must take their destinies into their own hands to make the country prosperous again.
These strategies have indeed won the day and a Great America is on the watch with a Great mind like Trump as President.
