Akufo-Addo Is A Nobody (Part 2)

If I were in any responsible position in Ghana, I would definitely ensure that this Lebanese undesirable is deported from Ghana and sent where he will learn how not to bite the finger feeding him. In Lebanon, he will get to know that common bread is not easy to come by and that one has to learn how to navigate the terrain to avoid being blown up by landmines and booby traps set by different political interests and terrorists. I think that his encounter with the BNI has taught him lessons on what it has taken to secure Ghana and made it stable, devoid of such hazards.

The problems that are draining resources meant for poor people worldwide can be traced to happenings in Lebanon and that part of the world. If he has found Ghana to be a safe haven for him but is abusing the compassion of Ghanaians, something must be done to wake him up.

He has apologized for being wayward and taught the NPP machine a lesson that it won’t learn. What next? Probably, he will pick a leaf from Capt. Koda and shape up. Once the BNI grabs them, they learn how not to over-reach themselves. That’s what the BNI is good for. Good people there to celebrate, folks!!

From the editorial of this cheap newspaper, I am given to know that these NPP people don’t even know how this particular national security and intelligence apparatus functions. Of course, they shouldn’t even know. The point is that the BNI doesn’t just go about exposing itself or its modus operandi anyhow. It is a professional security/intelligence institution set up to secure national security, regardless of parochial personal or political interests. That is why it has survived all these years and will continue to do so.

Maybe, a bit of history here for the good of the benighted NPP people and their flagbearer and newspaper spewing out this garbage for political purposes. The BNI was originally called the Special Branch, established by the British colonial authorities and invested with powers and functions that no amount of intimidation of its personnel or the institutional changes made over the years by successive governments can undermine. I thought Akufo-Addo was a lawyer to know something about the authenticity of the BNI so as to guide his pathetically ignorant followers!!

The truth is that every country has its own internal national security and intelligence service to guide it in how it deals with its own people and the world. If Akufo-Addo and his NPP don’t know this fact, they are lost. As such, it will be extremely dangerous to commit Ghana into their hands. Even, at the height of their hatred against Rawlings, Kufuor knew the relevance of his nemesis (Rawlings and his wife) as well as the BNI,

Let the NPP people do some background checks on the law legitimizing it as the authentic national security/intelligence organization and why Kufuor relied very much on it to survive 8 years in office so they can cure themselves of the paralyzing ignorance that Akufo-Addo is leading them to display in our time. Let them know also that demonizing it won’t solve their own credibility problems for Election 2016.

Here is what I have for them. Fadi Daboussi put himself on the radar screen of the BNI because he went where he shouldn’t. He might not have known it at the time that he got carried away to write the trash to serve the NPP’s purposes. But when he was picked up and interrogated, he saw the light. Others before him (for example, Captain Koda, a former military officer who should have known the relevance of intelligence networks, especially because he was in service at the time of the Military Intelligence Unit of the Ghana Armed Forces) saw their folly and have been silent ever since the BNI dealt with them.

Fadi Daboussi has also had his fire of baptism, which explains his effusive praise for the BNI and unconditional apology to president Mahama and all those he offended in his unguarded, uncultured, and ill-motivated write-ups. The BNI didn’t force him to reinvent himself. He saw the light and how foolish he was and recanted to help others like him blindly fighting the NPP’s lost cause see things from a wider angle. I am waiting to see what he will write on and how he will do so after coming face-to-face with his second self in the hands of the BNI. So much for such nonentities.

As an ordinary Ghanaian, Akufo-Addo has every avenue to seek redress if he feels maligned. He can go to court; but so far, he hasn’t chosen that easy path (because he claims to be a lawyer who should find comfort/solace in the judiciary, a common playground for him). Why isn’t he interested in court action against those defaming him but will hide behind vacuous media comments instead? Nothing will add up for him on that score.

Probably, he may be dreaming of taking on people like us if he becomes Ghana’s President to use the state security/intelligence apparatus as such. Woe-be-gone!!
