Though it ended up a draw, some players have expressed great disappointment regarding the Hearts vs Kotoko clash at the Baba Yara sports stadium. Hearts of Oak midfielder Winful Cobbinah has taken a strong swipe at referee Dally Gagba wrongfully awarding a penalty against his team, a move that saw the match end up in a 1-1 draw.

The Phobians who comfortably took the lead in the 60th minute after Kwame Kizito took the ushering shot were shocked  Kotoko pulled even through Saddick Adams in the 80th minute. This was after Dally Gagba awarded a controversial penalty to the Kumasi giants.

The clash which eventually ended as a draw got Ghanaians talking, with many suggesting there is something fishy about the penalty. Joining the voice of the majority, Winful Cobbina has blamed referee Danny Gagba for denying his side the three maximum points.

Speaking in a post match interview, Cobbinah said the acts exhibited by the referee clearly showed he was against the Phobians and for the Kotoko. He also said that Hearts would have won if the referee did not intentionally let Kotoko back in the game. the talented player expressed great disappointment in the game as well as the referee.

Gagba made a contentious penalty call when he awarded Asante Kotoko a penalty and this could have resulted in a confusion if Hearts had lost the game.

Hearts and Kotoko faced each other for the 106th time in the league on Sunday. Hearts have won 35, while Kotoko has 33 wins, with 37 games ending in draws, which is a total of 105 league games both home and away matches. The first league encounter between them was in the year in 1958.
