A HIGH-PROFILE politician in the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) (name withheld) for security reasons, has been named in a land grabbing case at Gomoa Fetteh, a farming community in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
They said the NPP man was among the list of people who were alleged to have grabbed lands in the numerous land disputes that have plunged Gomoa Fetteh and the Millennium City into turmoil in the past few days.
According to our sources, the NPP guru was recently seen at Gomoa Fetteh in the company of some land-guards to terrorise land owners who rightfully bought lands from the Twidan Royal family at Gomoa Fetteh, the Allodia title owners of the land in the area.
Meanwhile, the Twidan Royal family has indicated its intention to sue the said politician in the law court.
The land in question is located on Millennium City near Kasoa in the Central Region.
It is registered under certificate of land titles in the names of Twidan Royal family at Gomoa Fetteh.
Speaking in an interview with Today yesterday, Abusuapanin of Twidan Royal Family, Nana Kofi Ahomka, lamented the increased land grabbing and evictions in Gomoa Fetteh township.
He alleged that the NPP man was always in the company of soldiers anytime “he comes here (Gomoa Fetteh)”.
“I personally saw him leading some hardcore land-guards, including one Kwasi Alhaji, who is said to be the leader and Nii Borkoborkor, to see some top officers of the Ghana Police Service.”
He further alleged that the “land grabber in the NPP was the one who sent land-guards to cause trouble at Gomoa Fetteh during their annual festival, and appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to call him to order to prevent any possible clashes in the area.
