Mr. Osei Asafo-Adjei said the bank will concentrate more on human capital development, introduction of innovative products and new services as well as improving their “exciting” performance.

The bank’s Managing Director was interacting with journalists at the opening of The Royal Bank’s 26th branch at Tudu in Accra on Tuesday. It is a wholly-owned Ghanaian bank

Mr. Asafo-Adjei however noted that by 2019 every region in the country would have at least a branch to serve its growing customer base.

The bank is looking at opening a branch each in the Upper East and Upper West regions in 2018, he said, adding that the bank will then move to the Eastern and Volta regions by the end of 2019.

Describing e-banking as one of The Royal Bank’s strength, he urged current clients and prospective customers to take advantage of that irrespective of where they are located in the country.

The Tudu branch of The Royal Bank officially started operating on Monday, May 15. Locating it within the enclave of the Central Business District was ideal because it brings banking to the doorstep of customers who are traders and small and medium enterprises, Asafo-Adjei underscored.

Touching briefly on interest rate charged by commercial banks, he maintained that the bank is willing to reduce its rate once the central bank’s policy rate goes down steadily.

Mr. Edward Ayensu-Asante, the branch manager who conducted the media round the facility touted the serene environment as ideal for businesses, noting that the branch is opened to all class of people.

Sited close to the Accra Technical University, the branch is currently working on special package for students and teachers there.
