A perfect scenario -He is a charming sweetheart in the music industry and has succeeded in winning the hearts of Nigerians with his unique style of music.
However, Oluwatosin Ajibade, aka Mr Eazi is losing his strong grip on the country’s citizens for simply saying that the practice of infusing Ghanaian sounds and slangs into Nigerian music was started by him.
While this statement may seem less significant to you, it is important to note that Nigerians recently forgave the star for stating that ‘the influence of Ghana on Nigerian music can never be over-emphasized”
In a recent radio interview, the ”Hollup” singer said that other artists in Nigeria are now copying his ‘formula’ in order to have hit songs like him.
As expected patriotic Nigerian citizens have lambasted the “Skin Tight” singer for his comments which have been described as false and unfounded. But was that the only ‘false’ claim by Eazi? continue to find out.
The dust was yet to settle down on that incident before the singer also claimed that he rejected an oil and gas (Schlumberger) job that would have fetched him $6,000 per month in order to pursue his music career.

Nigerians who were already unhappy with the young fellow did not hesitate to dig into his claims. In the process of digging deep, some Nigerians shared pictures of Mr Eazi’s LinkedIn page, which showed that the singer only worked as an intern at Schlumberger for six months in 2010.
The name Mr Eazi became an agenda for discussion on various entertainment platforms in Nigeria, with many personalities making a jest of the Nigerian artiste who has spent a greater part of his life in Ghana.
Citizens also took to various social media platforms to join in the discussion and air their views on the ‘unwelcome development’
The rising star remains resilient and unmoved by the massive backlash against him. In a chat with Sunday Scoop, Mr. Eazi stood by his words and maintained that he brought a new vibe to the Nigerian music industry.
He explained that he was only saying his mind and did mean to insult any Nigerian artiste with his comments. Mr Eazi also maintained there are lots of Nigerian artistes who use Ghanaian words and melodies in their songs, but they’ve never been to Ghana.
Those artists he said, started using those words after his songs gained popularity. Asked to mention one artist that has ‘copied’ his style, the singer said, “I don’t have to mention anybody’s name. I am sure that those who are discerning know what I’m talking about.”
Mr Eazi also commented on the $6,000 job he allegedly turned down for music. According to him, he indeed turned down the job offered him by Schlumberger; but never said he started working there.
