The youth destroyed things such as chairs, tables and posters of the president and the Member of Parliament of the area.

The irate NPP supporters also invaded the Bawku West District Assembly, ransacked and vandalised items in some of the offices.

The angry youth went further to block the road leading to Bolgatanga and Bawku with lorry tyres and set fire in the middle of the road. They rode on motorbikes chanting “2020 No Fuseini, 2020 No Fuseini”.  Frank Fuseini Adongo is the sitting MP for Zebilla constituency and deputy regional Minister for Upper East region.

The youth argued that a woman cannot occupy the district chief executive position there. Moreover, they claimed Madam Victoria Ayamba was a member of the National Democratic Congress.

They alleged that during the campaign in 2016 she was in bed with the NDC and even supported them with motorbikes.

They prefer that one Patrick Ayaaba who is the assembly member for Teshie electoral area in Zebilla and a businessman. They threatened, notifying President Akufo-Addo that it is only the appointment of him will bring peace to the constituency and the district at large.

According to them, the party was able to snatch the constituency form NDC’s Cletus Apul Avoka through his sponsorship.

The police in the district have stepped him to prevent further damage to properties and lives.
