GhOneTV’s News Anchor, Keminni Amanor has revealed her boss at the Ridge-based Television station is her “biggest competitor.”

Anamor told Graphic Showbiz in a recent interview, she wants to surpass Editor Nana Aba Anamoah because “she is a huge news brand, I look up to her and I want to be better than her. I am actually glad she has said she will stop anchoring soon because that leaves the way free for me.”

She also spoke about her last minute decision not to leave GhoneTV for Tv3.

“Yeah, I took the contract but I didn’t return it. It was at a time that I felt it was difficult to break through that ceiling because GHOne had all the big names so I thought let me move to somewhere I can stand out. So when TV3 called, I thought I was going to go but it was not to be,” explained Amanor.

“While I am not so much of a church-goer, I am very spiritual. Men of God kept telling me it wasn’t a good time to move so I had to write TV3 a long letter to apologise. I led them on and didn’t turn up and that seemed very insensitive on my part.”

Amanor is celebrated for her conversational and easy-to-understand approach to presenting news.

Her report about the rot at Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) led to the removal of Mr. Stephen Kpordjih, the then Managing Director of the bank in 2015.

The report exposed a number of controversial decisions including the bank’s decision to sell its headquarters for 10 million dollars whilst it rented a new premises at 1 million cedis a month.

The 2014 Best Television News Anchor nominee at the Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards and Ghana Television Awards previously worked with Starr FM and JOY NEWS.

Amanor is a product of St. Mary’s Senior High School, University of Ghana with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with Geography and a certificate in radio and TV broadcasting from RABODEF Radio Academy.
