The Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG) has hinted of embarking on strike from Thursday, October 19 if government fails to meet their “legitimate demand”.
According to the workers, their rent allowance has been outstanding since January though it is “explicitly stated in our Conditions of Service”.
In a statement dated Wednesday, October 4 and signed by Derrick Annan, the General Secretary of JUSAG, all efforts to receive payment of the outstanding allowance has not yielded the needed response.
“Upon failure to address the above on or before 19th October, 2017, we are enjoined to embark on an industrial action to realize our legitimate demand.
“Notice is hereby served the National Labour Commission.”
The statement, nonetheless, urged government and management to “make payment of the rent allowance so as to forefend any industrial action”.
