Francis Agyare ,the client of Human Rights Lawyer, Francis Xavier Sosu who reported him to the General Legal Council leading to his three years ban says God is punishing him [Sosu] for reaping him-off for years.
He granted an interview to Accra based Joy Fm where he made some allegations.
According to Francis Agyare, he appealed and got out of prison without the help of lawyer Sosu, adding, ‘Sosu didn’t help me to get out of prison. He didn’t do anything.’
He further indicated that lawyer Sosu promised to give him GHc150 a month so when the compensation comes through, he will deduct it.
He also alleged that a company from Australia wanted to produce a documentary on his case but lawyer Sosu charged the company without his consent. ‘’Sosu cheated me and told me lies.”What is happening to him is a payment from God. This is not my fault.’’ he fumed
The lawyer was recently banned by the Council for overcharging Francis Agyare who he represented in court and also advertised his firm on social media. He [Sosu] has filed an appeal at the Appeals Court in an attempt to quash the ban.
Lawyer Sosu is seeking a declaration that the General Legal Council erred in imposing the ban on him for overcharging a client and advertising his firm on social media.
He is also seeking a declaration that the charge of touting and personal advertisement levelled against him by the General Legal Council is discriminatory and contrary to Article 17 of the 1992 Constitution.
