The fourth edition of “Goût de France”, which showcases French cuisine in all its varied forms, is scheduled to take place on March 21, 2018 across 15 restaurants in Ghana.

Ghana has over the years participated in the global event which is aimed at spreading French cuisine across the globe.

Speaking at a press briefing about this year’s event in Accra, France Ambassador to Ghana, François Pujolas said Goût de France, which literally means Good France, is aimed at “linking diplomacy with gastronomy through culinary art”.

According to the ambassador, the culinary art plays a major role in promoting tourism and boosting the hospitality industry.

François Pujolas noted, bringing such an event to Ghana and introducing varying meals within the French cuisine will help the tourism and hospitality industry in Ghana.

“You have to take the hospitality sector into account, because you have to be attractive to make tourism competitive, and if Ghana wants to compete with other countries in order to attract many more tourists, then it has to consider seriously the culinary art of the hospitality sector and its success.”

The French Ambassador added, gastronomy and culinary arts go beyond just food, hence the need to encourage the display of varied cuisine.

“We have many sectors and activities involved when it comes to culinary arts, sectors like logistics, agriculture, and import of some food products and training of the work force.”

This year’s event is expected to take place at some 15 restaurants across Ghana including that of Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel,The Royal Senchi Hotel, Accra City Hotel, La Villa Boutique, Lou Moon, and Midunu to offer French menus across board.

The event organized by the French embassy in collaboration with the respective restaurants will provide patron with a variety of French cuisine from starters to dessert.

Goût de France will see about 3000 restaurants and 1,500 chefs preparing delicious french cuisine across 5 continents in the world.
