Party faithful, most of whom were clad in an all white and Party’s paraphernalia, danced and sang to the glory of God for granting them victory in the elections.

Ministers of State, Members of Parliament (MP), Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), and Government appointees as well as Party big wigs attended the ceremony which was themed: “Called to lead, called to serve”.

The occasion was also used to pray for the nation, the Region, the President and the Government appointees.

In a sermon on the theme, the Head pastor of the Anglican Church in Cape Coast, Reverend Canon De-Graft Johnson tasked the NPP Government to work diligently to change the fortunes of the Central Region.

He said leadership was not about perpetuity, but the quality of service rendered to the people they would serve, would give them the opportunity to serve again.

Rev. De-Graft Johnson drew lessons from the scriptures, which suggested that the nature of leadership was service and urged the Government appointees to be honest, humble and serve with integrity.

He advised them not to succumb to undue pressure from Party members to bend the rules and regulations of the country, but rather they should to try to separate political party issues from government business.

Rev. De-Graft Johnson further called on the appointees to submit themselves to God and have positive and “can do attitude” to effectively implement the vision of the Government in the Region.

The Senior Minister, Mr Yaw Osafo Marfo, commended the people of the Region for voting massively for the NPP and reiterated the commitment of the NPP Government to reverse the Region’s negative tag as the fourth poorest Region in the country.

He pleaded with the foot soldiers and members of the Party and Ghanaians in general to be patient with the Government as it worked around the clock to turn the fortunes of the country around.

“Ghanaians had confidence in the NPP that is why they voted for us. We do not want to have a one time President, so you need to give us space and time to work.

The Senior Minister advised the Government appointees in the Region to be submissive and serve with the prime objective of enhancing the economic advancement and development of the people.

He also advised them to have enough time to interact with the Party members to know their problems and challenges and address them accordingly.

Mr Kwamena Duncan, Central Regional Minister, said his outfit was determined to revamp education in the Region, adding that quality education would help end the high rate of youth unemployment.
