A huge granite stone with a design of a cross and three lines of ropes has been discovered at Gomoa Ojobi in the Central Region. The miracle granite stone was discovered.

The stone which releases fragrance when water is poured on the cross was discovered by Sarcon Quarry Ltd at the community off the Kasoa-Winneba road.

Following the discovery, the Tourism minister carried out an inspection on Tuesday. The ministry she said, would deploy technical experts, including an archaeologist and a geologist, to examine the formation of the granite stone for further study and action.

The stone which has been described as a miracle stone could become a pilgrimage site for Ghanaians and foreigners according to the minister.

Mr. El Aridi Choaki Youssefthe Quarry Operations Manager of Sarcon Quarry Ltd, discovered what he described as a miracle in November 2017 during a process of breaking the rock with machines.

Explaining how he discovered the miracle stone, he narrated that in the process of breaking the stone, a greater force pushed him.

Although the machine was used for the cutting of the rock, he said the particular stone would not break and, therefore, he had to use his manpower to remove the stones from the area.

Choaki who says he knows little about the Christian religion believed the stone was truly a miracle of God. He also stated that the discovery of the granite stone is a good sign for Ghana.
