UT Bank Delegation Calls On President Akufo-Addo

A delegation from UT Bank led by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Stephen Antwi-Asimeng, has paid a courtesy call on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. The team congratulated the President on his assumption of office and shared with him the ongoing transformation taking place in the bank.

They discussed the current economic conditions in the country as a whole and its impact on the banking sector in particular. As a leading SME bank in Ghana, the subject of financing and business development assistance for small and medium enterprises was discussed extensively.

The bank also assured the President of its commitment to help the government strengthen the role of SMEs in the development of the nation.

Mr Antwi-Asimeng said “as an indigenous bank which is able to reach small and medium enterprises, we reaffirm our commitment to support SMEs and will partner the government to ensure the development of the SME sector to catalyse economic growth and improve the life of the average Ghanaian.”

The delegation also took advantage of the visit to brief the President on other activities and developments within the UT Group.

In response, the President reaffirmed his commitment to support the private sector and make it the engine of growth.

The delegation included the President of the UT Group, Mr Prince Kofi Amoabeng, Chairman of the UT Bank, Mr Joseph Nsonamoah, CEO of UT Holdings, Mr Martyn Mensah, and Ms Gillian Slater.
