The eight students, all females were asked to go home after the school disciplinary committee found them guilty of inflicting “terrible injuries” to junior students.

The students are Shani Hamdia, Abdulai Rahima, Sayibu Nimatu, Mohamed Humu, Ibrahim Rashida, Iddirisu Yakubu Zeinab and Braimah Rahinatu, all final year students.

The dismissed students accused their juniors of spreading gossip about them and made them to “kneel on chippings and flogged them with sponges” until their bodies become bloody, according to documents sighted by Starr News.

The school authorities after finding them guilty initially withdrew them from the boarding House and asked them to bring their parents to sign a bond.

The students, however, refused but rather packed out from the school and sought refuge at the regent’s palace.

The regent according to Starr News sources accommodated the students and demanded their re-admission.

He has reportedly issued threats to the headmaster after meetings with Palace elders failed to compromise his stance.

The headmaster has therefore fled the school following regular visits of palace elders to the school and the increasing summons to the chief Palace.

Speaking to Starr News, Mr. Marcarious, however, denied fleeing the school but said he was away because he lost a relative.

He added that the decision to sack the students was to curb the increasing rate of indiscipline and pleaded with the regent to rather assist authorities prevent such acts.
