Some groups calling themselves Savannah Youth Association, Loyal Ladies and Concerned Citizens of Ashaiman are calling on Member of Parliament for Ashaiman constituency, Ernest Norgbey to immediately withdraw the suit he filed against Gender Minister, Otiko Djaba.
The groups say the issue of Otiko Djaba not rendering her national service has been dealt with hence no need to waste time in court.
Two National Democratic Congress (NDC) MPs have filed a writ at the Supreme Court, challenging the appointment of Otiko Afisa Djaba as the minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection.
The Plaintiffs – Member of Parliament for Ashaiman constituency, Ernest Norgbey, and MP for the Juaboso Constituency Kwabena Mintah Akandoh – want the court to revoke her appointment with immediate effect.
The two MPs in their suit prayed the court to nullify Djaba’s nomination and swearing in due to her failure to undertake the mandatory national service.
Spokesperson for the group, Alhassan Kamil in an interview with Adom News said it will be in the interest of Ernest Norgbey to concentrate on developmental issues in the constituency than seeking unnecessary attention.
“The case for dragging Otiko to court is baseless. We are telling him and the other NDC man to withdraw their suit else we would show them the exit” he noted.
Alhassan Kamil vowed the youth in Ashaiman will massively against him in the next elections if he fails to rescind their decision.
