We Will Sack Mahama’s Last Minute Recruits – Ken Agyapong

New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong says the NPP government will soon sack all those who were recruited into public sector after the National Democratic Congress government lost the elections.

According to him, the opposition NDC recruited about 11, 000 people into public institutions when reality dawned on them that they were leaving power.

“NDC people are wicked and recruiting unnecessarily. Just two weeks to leave office, the NDC government recruited about 11, 000 people into public sector institutions such as the DVLA, GCB, Agric bank.

“They have forgotten that if you recruit a person, you can’t backdate them from Controller and that is what they don’t know. So we will go through all these through the Controller and sack all of them. How can one person’s name appear like 17 times in payroll? They are no more in power and so they should be prepared” he warned.

The NDC was defeated in the December 7, 2016, polls and ex-president John Dramani Mahama handed over power to President Akufo-Addo on January 7, 2017.

However, the NPP raised concerns about some new contracts and recruitment being undertaken by the NDC government during the transition period.

According to the members of the NDC transition team, they took the decision because it was duly forwarded to the appropriate authorities for approval before their party’s defeat.

But speaking on Adom TV’s Morning Show “Badwam” Tuesday, the outspoken politician indicated that since the NDC government refused to consult the then NPP government-in-waiting before awarding last minute contracts and recruiting people into public office, they will have no option than to sack all of them.

He noted that such last minute deals could have far-reaching consequences for the NPP government.
