According to him, it is not in the DNA of the NDC to spark a war in the country since they are witnesses to countries in the Sub Saharan sub region which have been destabilized as a result of civil wars.

He pointed out that no one has ever emerged winner from civil wars, but the dint that comes with it stays forever among generations.

“So in West Africa the country that have fought civil wars, there was no winner but they destroyed the country and it has taken them, 15 to 20 years and thus they are yet to come back. So we have to avoid radicalism”, he observed.

The Vice President during a 2 day visit to the chiefs and people of the Upper East Region noted that some politicians mount platforms to say things which threaten the peace of the nation and thence cautioned against wild utterances to make sure peace and unity is maintained in the country in the next 4 years.

“Without peace, no economy is able to make progress because the money we will use for progress would be used to buy weapons and recruit soldiers and police to stabilize the country”, the Vice President advised.

That is why the President is telling us to find ways of bringing our communities together even when there are tensions and challenges, he added.

In a similar development, the Vice President was happy with the traditional council in the Upper East Region for the peace they are maintaining in the selection of the next Bolga Naba.

“We have read in the papers that the process in the selection of the next Bolga Naba is going through a little difference which has to do with the judicial system.

Despite that people are peaceful and going about their normal activities”, he indicated.

He anticipated that peace will continue even as the process takes place so that they will come help enskin the next Bolga Naba who will take his people along the part of progress and development.

Vice President’s visit to the Upper East Region was to seek for support for the NDC in the impending elections, come December 7.
