Also, as part of the health walk, UMB staff members raised funds to support the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital and at the end of the walk, UMB presented an amount of GHc10, 000 to the hospital to enhance their operations.

Over three hundred UMB staff members from the Greater Accra and Koforidua branches of the bank were joined by some of the bank’s customers as well as staff from the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital for an engaging day of exercise and fun.

The 12 kilometre  walk began at the car park of UMB’s Head Office in the SSNIT Emporium building, proceeded to 37 Military Hospital, moved to the Kawukudi Junction, through Dzorwulu Traffic Light (Perez Junction), travelled down to African Regent Hotel and ended at the car park of UMB’s Head Office.

The Chief Executive Officer of UMB, Mr. John Awuah, who was among the first to complete the walk, stated that the physical well-being of staff members is a top priority for the bank and the annual health walk is one way that the bank is raising awareness of the importance of exercising.

The Director of Marketing and Communications of UMB, Ms. Yvonne Botchey said, “UMB will continue to place the health of our employees at the very top of our priorities and as a socially responsible bank we will also support important institutions, such as the Princess Marie Louise Children’s Hospital.”
