Award-winning Nigerian female broadcaster, Toke Makinwa, on Friday, February 3, 2017 at La Palm Beach Hotel in Accra launched her book.
The book, christened: “On Becoming” talks about how she became the most-talked about female broadcaster in Nigeria and beyond.
It also reveals the truth behind her 14-year relationship with the man she finally married.
According to her, the marriage nearly brought her to her knees.
Present at the book launch were Jackie Appiah, Ama K. Aberese, Priscilla Agyeman, Prince Adofo among others.
Fans, who knew Toke and followed her on social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter), also came to throw their weight behind the nominee of Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards.
Hosted by Regina Van Helvert, fans who patronised the book for Gh₵70.000 had Ms. Makinwa’s autograph and also used the opportunity to take photographs with her on the night.
Toke never envisaged that she would be a successful media personality.
She began her journey as a bubbly child but grew into a lonely teenager after the devastating loss of her parents.
