The groups while issuing the warning stressed that unless the parliamentarian desists from that, she would soon face their wrath. According to them, Tina Mensah had organised a meeting to draw the support of members of the assembly towards ensuring her preferred candidate gets the position.

Also warned, were members of the party, who have allegedly begun pushing for their preferred candidates to get various positions into the government of president-elect, Nana Addo which will begin in January 2017.

The NPP groups insisted that they had been in the party and had brought it as far as winning the presidential elections even before Mensah’s candidate joined in. More so, they categorically stated that he is incompetent to take over the position, as they only want competent people in the assemblies.

Also, the groups have called for a change from the practice of controlling the power by those they describe as the same faces. They state that these are the people who always jostle for positions for those they prefer as against qualified people. This practice according to them, breeds corruption, unhealthy competition, and underdevelopment.

While calling on all lobbyists to back off the president-elect so as he could have a free hand in appointing his team, the groups stated their faith in the incoming president, citing his record of competence which they believe he will bring to bear in that appointment of those to make his administration.

The warning is coming at a time when from findings by BuzzGhana, differnt camps within the president-elect’s party are already rooting for different individuals.
