Atletico Madrid and Ghana midfielder, Thomas Partey has taken his time to pen down a touching letter to all Ghanaians as regards the just concluded African Cup of Nations qualifier in which Ghana finished fourth place.

The Black Stars who has so much lost fan support in recent times following their various unacceptable attitudes, especially that of last World Cup tournament, expressed much confidence in ceasing the AFCON 2017 tournament as an opportunity to bring back smiles to the faces of Ghanaians.

The team practically raised the hopes of Ghanaians when they beat DR Congo to make it to the semi-final stage of the games.

However, the hopes of Ghanaians was once more smashed as it had been for the last 35 years, when Cameroon beat Ghana to snatch the place for the finals.

Worse still, the disappointment seem to have sublimed to a state of burning fury when the Black Stars still lost the third place finish to Burkina Faso.

He also ceased the opportunity appreciate the country for giving him the opportunity to play in the tournament. Read Thomas Partey’s message to Ghanaians below:

It was the dream and wish of all Ghanaians to win the prestigious cup of AFCON 2017 but unfortunately we couldn’t attain that goal . We are sorry for disappointing all Ghanaians around the world who have given us the massive support and rallied behind us since day 1.

Nevertheless all I can say is a big thank you to Ghana for giving me this opportunity to serve my beloved country.

All is not lost and we hope to come back strongly the next time and bring joy to the faces of all Ghanaians.
