The chief of Amanfrom in the Greater Accra region Nii Kwarshie Gbolor has been arrested for raping a 20-year-old lady.
According to a police charge sheet, the 49-year-old chief forced himself onto the victim, Dorenda Fey, after she had visited him in his palace in January last year.
The victim, according to the charge sheet, went to the house of the chief upon invitation to take delivery of a sowing machine he had promised to buy for her after he mediated a dispute between her mother and another person.
“…At about 2pm on January 21,2015, the complainant arrived at the suspect’s house and he took her to his bedroom. The suspect asked her to sit on his bed and wait for him while he brings the sowing machine to her.
“To the complainant’s surprise, the suspect only returned to the bedroom and pushed her onto the bed. The suspect then forcibly had sexual intercourse with the complainant and threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident to anyone,” portions of the charge sheet read.
The chief is being prepared for court, Accra Report has learnt.
