Takinta Zone To Receive Cash Reward For NDC Vote

Mr Dan Bossoe, President of the Association of Jomoro Citizens based in Accra, has pledged to give cash rewards to the best communities in the Takinta zone if they cast their votes favourably for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He said the cash rewards would be made if wins NDC 85 per cent of votes in the December 7 polls.

He said the communities made up of Takinta, Adusuazo, New and Old Kabenlah-Suazo, Old and New Edobo, Old and New Ahobre, Egbazo and Atwebanso would receive GH? 5,000.00 each if the NDC wins the elections.

Mr Bossoe, a native of Takinta, made the pledge at New Edobo near Half-Assini, when he addressed a large crowd of NDC Party Members in the Zone at the Edobo/Atwebanso District Assembly (DA) Basic School Park after a five-hour procession through the streets of the area.

He said the rewards stated are his own personal initiative and would be redeemed on December 9.

The procession organised by the leadership of the Party started at Adusuazo at about 0500 hrs and paraded through various through towns in the Zone amidst two brass bands and ended at Half-Assini around 1000hrs.

Mr Bossoe said President Mahama has pledged to bring the Osagyefo Power Badge and Domunli Thermal Plant Projects at Effasu and Bonyere respectively in the District on stream in his next administration, if he is re-elected.

He said the Domunli project to be sited in the Zone has the potential to open up the area and create more job opportunities for the people.

Mr Gideon Konibah, the Constituency Chairman of the party in the area, said President Mahama has kept faith with the Constituency in his first term and deserved their endorsement for another term. He appealed to the constituents not to vote on a ‘skirt and blouse’ basis in the election but vote for the NDC Parliamentary Candidate, Mr Thomas Elleamo Yankey as well, to enable the President get the needed Parliamentarians to approve his programmes and policies.

He said the Jomoro Citizens in Accra have launched a crusade dubbed “Vote Mahama” in the area to ensure a resounding victory for the President in the coming elections.

Meanwhile, the National Commission for Civic Education, the National Peace Council and other important bodies related to the management of our civic responsibilities and the maintenance of peace have stressed the need for the electorate to avoid voting for monetary gains or personal gifts.

Voters, they advise must rather assess the manifestos or policies presented by the various political parties and the competencies of their candidates and vote in the national interest.
