Delivering the keynote address at the open-day activity of the “Female Professionals in Electronics (FPE)” at the Pentecost Vocational Institute, she asked them to be mindful of the importance of electronics in Ghana’s development and the positive influence they will have on other women with similar ambitions.

According to her, the project will enable them to fully participate in the labour market and be financially independent as she encouraged the trainee ladies to learn and succeed in a male dominated profession.

“You understand the importance of electronics in our national development and do not want to be left out. You ladies give me so much hope for the future as you have set out an exciting journey to positively affect our world,” she said. The First Lady also commended the partnership among Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the German Development Agency and their private sector partner Samsung for the project, noting that the project will make girls participate “meaningfully in the labour market and make them locally productive and globally competitive.”

“You have taken a brave decision towards your future and you are making history; be focused, study, explore and enjoy your journey towards a great future,” she encouraged. The “Female Professionals in Electronics” project provides holistic training for girls, comprising theoretical and intense practical competency-based training, with work place experience.
