The rapper was reported to have suffered a double kidney failure in July last year and was admitted at the hospital.

Speaking to Amanda Jissih on GHONE TV, OJ Blaq described his survival as a miracle from God.

“It just happened when I realised I wasn’t feeling too well so I went to the hospital and was told my blood pressure was very high.

“The doctor told me I was going to be admitted but I insisted on going to my grandma’s funeral so he said he would monitor me for some time and check again in the evening.

“It even went up the more when he came to check on me in the evening so he said he had to inject me so I can go the next morning but when he injected me, I never woke up again.

“I think they had realised I had a kidney failure at the time so they had to detain me.

“They put me in an ambulance, they took me to Nyaho, there was no bed, they took me to LEKMA, there was no bed, they took me to 37 Military, there was no bed, they took me to Police Hospital, there was no bed, they took me to SSNIT, there was no bed….I was taken to Korle Bu, there was no bed. I was in the ambulance for 4 hours… Somebody had to die before I got a bed at the emergency.”

He however refused to disclose if he received a transplant when asked.

“I had faith I was going to make it and God did it and it was a pure miracle even though I had faith I was going to make it”.

According to him, some of his family members were scared he wasn’t going to make it because of stories they heard about others who had kidney issues.

OJ Blaq became famous for his role in TV series Sun City and later teamed up with Richie Mensah to form Lynx Entertainment where he released hit tracks such as Chale Wote and Target.
