About fifteen men believed to be military personnel, and others from the National Security, have reportedly seized a number of vehicles from the home of Kofi Adams, National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Although details of why the incident happened are sketchy, Mr. Adams, who was also the 2016 National Campaign Coordinator for the NDC, confirmed this to Accra-based Montie FM, today [Wednesday].
According to him, he was informed about the incident by an occupant of the house because he is outside the country.
In a brief audio of the interview available to Citifmonline.com, Mr. Adams said, “About fifteen soldiers and some other NPP guys including Nana Akufo-Addo’s bodyguards went there to collect my vehicles; and they used the back of their guns to hit my guy in the house.”
According to Mr. Adams, although some officials of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) were present to identify that the cars were duly registered, they were still taken away.
“…Even though they went with DVLA officials who checked and made it very clear that the vehicles are genuinely registered in my name, I am told they still went away with the vehicles. I am out of the country; and so I have asked the boy [occupant] to go and report to the police immediately.
There are unconfirmed reports that some of the previous government’s officials, may have misappropriated some state assets.
