The school authorities, Kasapafmonline.com understands, are in constantly in touch with the management of the hospitals where the remains of their students were deposited with the view of getting the autopsy report to know exactly what caused their deaths.

“Whatever caused the actual death of the students, we will get to know of it when the autopsy reports are ready,” said Madam Cassandra Twum Ampofo, Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Education Service, Ashanti Region.

She disclosed this, Monday, April 3, 2017, in an exclusive interview with Kasapa FM’s Akwasi Nsiah on Kasapa 102.5 FM.

Though she admitted that majority of the students have been withdrawn from the school because of the incident, she was quick to dismiss claims that the GES has shut down the school.

Madam Twum Ampofo further dismissed claims that the three students died as a result of food poison.

“If it were to be food poison, a lot of the students would have been affected. Many of them would have complained of complications. It is quite clear that we did lose the three students in just one day. If were to be one day, it would have drawn our attention to it,” she noted.

Explaining the circumstances of the death of the students, Madam Ampofo told Nsiah that “the three did not die on the spot in the school. About two weeks ago, a form one male student felt sick and reported to the school authorities. He was given first aid but later the sickness became so severe that we had to call his parents to pick him up. The second student was a Form Two Business student who also complained of sickness. We gave him first aid but later had to call his parent to pick him up when the sickness intensified. The same thing can be said of the Form 2 Science student. He also complained of being sick and when we checked him, his temperature was very high. So, we called his parents to pick him up too. They were taken to separate hospitals where later the news came to us that those students have lost their lives.”

This, she noted, scared lots of the students leading to their withdrawal from the school by their parents.
